Where will Lowe’s open its new stores?

Lowe’s upcoming stores will be located in two U.S. cities:

  • Walton, Kentucky, on October 30.
  • Willis, Texas, in late November.

The Walton store will be Lowe’s first new location in Kentucky since 2009 and will bring the chain’s total number of stores in the state to 43. The location will span nearly 95,000 square feet and will also feature an approximately 30,000-square-foot outdoor garden area.

The store will also be one of the first Lowe’s locations to feature the company’s new tool department, designed with a more open layout, wider aisles and lower shelving to make it easier for shoppers to find specific products.

Another new feature will be in the kitchen area. The company is introducing redesigned showrooms with a wider selection of appliances and high-end kitchen products. This concept will be incorporated into future store openings and will also be introduced at some existing locations.

To qualify for Silver Key status, credit card holders may be required to add their card to the Lowe’s digital wallet.

Lowe’s History

Lowe’s Companies, Inc. is a well-known home improvement retail chain founded in the early 1920s in the United States by Lucie Lowe. After her passing, the company was passed on to her family, and in 1946, the decision was made to focus all Lowe’s stores exclusively on home improvement products.

The company’s expansion began in 1961 when it went public and already had 21 stores operating across the country. Today, Lowe’s handles approximately 16 million transactions weekly nationwide. During fiscal year 2024, its total sales surpassed $83 billion, and the company operates over 1,700 home improvement stores, employing around 300,000 people.

Headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina, Lowe’s is also deeply committed to the communities it serves, implementing programs that aim to create safe, affordable housing, improve public spaces, promote the development of future skilled professionals, and provide assistance in emergency situations to vulnerable communities.
